The Uganda Film Festival (UFF) is set to return for its 13th edition to bring together filmmakers, actors, industry professionals, government agencies, development partners, and film lovers for another celebration of Uganda’s growing film industry.

Organised by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), the festival will take place from August 21 to 28, 2026, with a series of activities aimed at promoting local storytelling and strengthening the country’s creative sector.

Recognised as Uganda’s premier film event, the Uganda Film Festival continues to provide a platform for showcasing locally produced films while creating opportunities for filmmakers to improve their skills and connect with industry players.

Throughout the festival week, Ugandans will enjoy film screenings in cinemas across the country, giving audiences a chance to experience some of the best homegrown productions on the big screen.

The festival will also feature workshops, masterclasses, industry forums, and networking sessions designed to equip creatives with new skills, encourage collaboration, and support the growth of Uganda’s film economy.

The celebrations will conclude with the Uganda Film Festival Awards Ceremony on August 28, 2026, where outstanding filmmakers, actors, and film productions will be recognised for their contributions to Uganda’s cinema industry.

The awards ceremony will be held as an invitation-only event.
