Ugandan music star Fik Fameica is taking his influence beyond the stage after being officially unveiled as Spiro’s brand ambassador for East Africa, receiving a new electric motorcycle during a handover ceremony in Kampala.

The “Sikiwa” singer, born Shafik Walukagga, was presented with a Spiro Ekon electric motorcycle registered as UMA 117NP, marking the beginning of his partnership with the electric mobility company.

Fik took the bike for its first ride around Spiro’s facility and shared his experience, highlighting its quiet operation, efficiency and potential to reduce transport costs for urban riders.

The partnership was first announced on July 15, 2026, as Spiro seeks to use the singer’s popularity to promote electric mobility among young people and Uganda’s boda boda community. Nigerian superstar Davido was also named the company’s Global Brand Ambassador.

Speaking about the partnership, Fik described it as a move towards cleaner and more affordable transport, alongside opportunities for Ugandans.

“This is not just about motorcycles, this is a movement. A movement for cleaner transport, cheaper transport, and more opportunity for our people,” he said.

Spiro is expanding its electric motorcycle operations and battery-swapping network in Uganda, with a target of deploying 50,000 electric motorcycles by the end of 2026.

Through the partnership, the company hopes to bring electric mobility closer to young Ugandans and everyday riders.
