Democratic Party (DP) Vice President Fred Mukasa Mbidde was treated to a surprise birthday celebration at Radio 4 studios by members of the Banyarwanda community in Uganda.
The celebration took place on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, after members of the community, led by Chairperson Owek. Simon Kayitana, visited the studios while journalist Kungu Al-mahadi Adam was hosting Mbidde on 103.3 FM Radio 4.
According to Adam, the group surprised the former East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP with a birthday cake, turning the studio into a moment of joy, warmth and appreciation.
The visiting group included students from Kampala International University (KIU), Makerere University, Kyambogo University, Ndejje University and Uganda Christian University (UCU).

Photographs from the event showed Mbidde, dressed in a blue suit, posing with members of the community inside the studio. Some attendees wore traditional and cultural attire, while a decorated birthday cake was placed on the desk near the Radio 4 microphone.
Mbidde had celebrated his birthday around October 15–16, making the studio visit a special occasion for the community to express its appreciation for him.
The surprise celebration highlighted the relationship between Mbidde and members of the Banyarwanda community, who gathered to mark the occasion with cake, photographs and messages of goodwill.
