Former Kira Municipality MP and People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) Secretary General Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has claimed that Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, together with two other military officers, are expected to appear before the High Court, in connection with a human rights application filed by opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye.
Ssemujju made the remarks as legal proceedings surrounding Besigye’s case continue to attract significant public and political attention.
The application stems from allegations that Besigye and his aide, Hajj Obeid Lutale, were abducted on November 16, 2024, in Nairobi, Kenya, during a book launch. It is further alleged that they were forcibly returned to Uganda without formal extradition procedures and later charged with treason.
Their legal team argues that the incident violated their fundamental rights and undermines the legitimacy of the ongoing prosecution.

The case also references recent developments involving the arrest of lawyer Erias Lukwago and the deportation of Kenyan lawyer Martha Karua, both of whom were linked to Besigye’s defense. These events have intensified scrutiny over legal representation and cross-border enforcement actions in the politically sensitive case.
