Farmers benefiting from the Parish Development Model (PDM) have applauded the National Animal Genetic Resources Centre and Data Bank (NAGRC&DB) for supplying them with high-quality dairy heifers, piglets and improved poultry chicks, saying the animals are helping them improve household incomes and transition from subsistence to commercial farming. Ugandan journalist and lawyer Gideon Tugume has announced a Shs2 billion civil lawsuit against the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and Kisubi Hospital over what he alleges were unlawful arrest, prolonged detention, torture and medical procedures conducted without his consent. The Ministry of Local Government has signed contracts for the rehabilitation of 139 kilometres of district and community access roads under the Rural Development for Food Security in Northern Uganda (RUDSEC) Project.
