Former Kampala MP aspirant and businessman Abraham Luzzi has criticised Vice President Jessica Alupo, questioning her visibility and impact in Uganda’s political affairs.
Luzzi described Alupo as the “most unimpactful Vice President in Uganda’s history,” arguing that she has become largely invisible in public life.
He also criticised Parliament for approving Alupo for another term, specifically questioning the role of Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa and the parliamentary vetting committee in backing her continuation in office.
Alupo was approved by Parliament in May 2026 for a second consecutive term as Vice President under President Yoweri Museveni. Her reappointment made her the first woman to serve two consecutive terms in the position.

“Uganda now has the most unimpactful Vice president in history,we can’t feel her in our chests, eyes, minds and on ground, she has humbled the office to the extent it doesn’t exist or make an meaning, she shouldn’t have been vetted back.I blame RT. Hon.Thomas Tayebwa & vetting team.”– He wrote.
Luzzi’s comments have reignited discussion about the visibility and responsibilities of Uganda’s top executive offices, as well as the expectations placed on senior government officials.
His assessment of Alupo’s performance is a political opinion and has not been presented as an official evaluation of the Vice President’s record.
