Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen. Kale Kayihura (Rtd) has expressed gratitude after officially joining the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), sending a congratulatory message to the organisation’s chairman and Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Kayihura was assigned Patriotic Officer (PO) No. 73 as part of PLU’s ongoing registration of members, a process aimed at formalising the organisation’s leadership and grassroots structure.

In his message, the retired police chief said he was deeply honoured to be associated with Gen. Muhoozi and the young cadres of the Patriotic League of Uganda.

He pledged his commitment to supporting the movement’s objectives and advancing what he described as the mission of the NRM Revolution.

Kayihura concluded his message with the slogan: “Aluta Continua. Victory is certain.”

The latest round of PLU registrations, conducted on July 5, also saw several senior political figures receive Patriotic Officer numbers, including Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi, who was assigned PO No. 71.

Since early 2026, the Patriotic League of Uganda has been issuing Patriotic Officer numbers to members as part of efforts to strengthen its organisational structure under the leadership of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
