News has been making rounds claiming that Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV has passed away after struggling with cancer for months in the United States but now Tooro Kingdom has opened up.
It is being reported that King Oyo in critical condition, amid unconfirmed reports circulating that the 34-year-old monarch has died in the United States.
In a statement shared by Tooro Kingdom Prime Minister Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire, the Kingdom called for calm and urged the public to pray for the King while avoiding speculation and unverified information.
The Kingdom said further updates on the monarch’s condition will be provided through official communication channels.
The confirmation comes weeks after the Kingdom dismissed reports that King Oyo was seriously ill, saying on August 3 that he was in good health and in the United States for official engagements and further studies.
Born on April 16, 1992, King Oyo became Omukama of Tooro in 1995 at just three years old following the death of his father, Omukama Patrick Matthew Kaboyo Olimi III.
His reign has included initiatives promoting education, healthcare, environmental conservation, tourism and youth empowerment in Tooro.
For now, the reports of his death remain unconfirmed, with the Kingdom asking the public to rely on official updates as concern grows over the monarch’s health.
