Before the tournament, Bujjingo had tipped France, Argentina, Brazil, or Portugal as the teams with the highest chances of winning the World Cup. However, after Spain lifted the trophy, some social media users questioned his earlier comments.
Addressing the debate, the preacher explained that he was speaking as a football fan sharing his personal opinion and not delivering a spiritual message.
“It wasn’t a prophecy because I never claimed it was one. It was simply my personal opinion as a football fan,” Bujjingo said.
The preacher’s clarification comes amid discussions online about how public statements from religious leaders are interpreted, especially when they touch on events such as sports competitions.
