General Summary
The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to support our OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children) program. This role will involve working under the guidance of the OVC Project Officer to coordinate and monitor the delivery of comprehensive services to identified beneficiaries. The primary goal is to facilitate the graduation of OVC households from vulnerability within the designated sub-county and related district.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment and Planning: Evaluate OVC households’ health and socio-economic conditions, identify their needs, and develop sustainable plans to enhance their quality of life.
- Enrolment and Home Visits: Support the enrolment of beneficiaries using standard case management processes. Conduct home visits to monitor progress, assess situations, and address gaps.
- Support and Coordination: Collaborate with Community-Based Trainers (CBTs) and caregivers to develop economic plans, provide referrals for various support services, and track OVC on ART.
- Mentorship and Technical Support: Mentor service providers and offer technical support to sub-county officers. Document project interventions and coordinate activities related to case management and stakeholder engagement.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Develop work plans, monitor their implementation, and prepare periodic reports. Update files and work with data volunteers to maintain accurate records.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field.
Person Specification
- Self-Drive: Ability to work independently and in remote areas.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer use and data management.
- Mobility: Must be a rider.
