Ugandan rapper Mclevi has officially launched the rollout for his highly anticipated MCLEANER MIXTAPE with the release of the project’s lead single, “Where You Been” (Blessing), accompanied by its official music video.
Signed to FTM Records, the fast-rising hip-hop artist is using the release to give fans an early taste of what promises to be one of his biggest projects yet.
Written by Mclevi and produced by Theinkredibo at FTM Records, the song is brought to life with visuals directed by Blendin, delivering a cinematic representation of the rapper’s journey and message.
Unlike a typical hip-hop release, “Where You Been” carries a motivational theme, touching on discipline, resilience, self-growth, and the determination required to overcome life’s toughest challenges.
Through hard-hitting lyrics and striking visuals, Mclevi tells a story that resonates with anyone striving to rise above difficult circumstances while remaining true to themselves.
Known for blending Trap, Hip-Hop, and Drill, Mclevi has steadily built his career as an independent artist under FTM Records. His music is inspired by life in Kampala, drawing from experiences that span both the church and the streets.
The rapper says his slogan, “From the Mud,” is more than just a catchphrase—it’s a reflection of his background and the struggles that have shaped both his life and his music.
With the release of “Where You Been,” excitement is now building for MCLEANER MIXTAPE, a project Mclevi describes as the result of years of dedication, growth, and hard work.
If the lead single is any indication, fans can expect a mixtape packed with raw storytelling, energetic production, and the authentic sound that has become Mclevi’s trademark.
