Tanzanian singer Zuchu has officially confirmed that she and music star Diamond Platnumz have separated and are currently going through a divorce, bringing an end to one of East Africa’s most high-profile celebrity relationships.

The “Sukari” hitmaker made the announcement through her Instagram Stories on July 12, 2026, saying the decision was made after deep reflection and a desire to prioritize her own well-being.

“I announce this with a heavy heart. After six years of being together, I have finally decided to choose myself. We are now separated and going through a divorce.”

Zuchu said she is now focusing on her health, healing, career, and personal growth, while wishing Diamond Platnumz and his family nothing but the best.

The announcement comes after years of an on-and-off relationship that attracted widespread public attention. The pair began dating after Diamond signed Zuchu to WCB Wasafi, and although they previously announced a breakup in 2024, they later reconciled and continued making public appearances together.

In recent months, the couple had also been the subject of pregnancy rumours, which Zuchu dismissed at the time.

Her latest statement now appears to confirm that their relationship has come to an end once again, with the singer describing the separation as a personal decision aimed at protecting her peace and future.

As news of the breakup spread, social media was flooded with reactions from fans across East Africa, with many expressing shock while others offered messages of support to both artists.

As of publication, Diamond Platnumz had not publicly commented on Zuchu’s announcement or the reported divorce proceedings.
