Songstress Irene Ntale has opened up about a deeply personal health journey, revealing that she recently underwent surgery to remove 30 fibroids.
The singer made the disclosure while responding to a social media post by an influencer who had shared her own experience with fibroids, encouraging women to speak openly about the condition.
Ntale revealed that she underwent an open abdominal myomectomy through a vertical incision in June, with the procedure successfully removing 30 fibroids.
She also confirmed that the surgery was carried out in Uganda and expressed gratitude that she is recovering steadily and has gradually resumed her normal activities.
“4 weeks 4 days post op! 30 removed! Vertical incision! Healing very well. The first week was hell! The gas pains after surgery! But after that everything starts to slowly feel normal again. Did my surgery in Uganda,” she shared.
What Are Fibroids?
Fibroids are non-cancerous growths made of muscle and fibrous tissue that develop in or around the uterus. While some women experience no symptoms, others may suffer from heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, pressure, fertility challenges, or other complications depending on the size and location of the fibroids.
Ntale’s openness has been praised by many fans, with some saying her story could encourage other women experiencing similar health challenges to seek medical attention and share their experiences without fear.
Following her update, social media users flooded her pages with prayers and well wishes, expressing relief that the singer is recovering well and wishing her a full recovery.
