Former Mawokota North MP Ameria Anne Kyambadde has clashed with singer-turned-politician Hillary Kiyaga, popularly known as Hilderman, during a burial ceremony in Mpigi.
The confrontation reportedly became tense when Kyambadde accused Hilderman of allegedly abusing her and reminded him of the support she gave him earlier in his life.
“Stop abusing me. I contributed to your life when you were nothing,” Kyambadde reportedly told Hilderman.
Kyambadde served as Mawokota North MP for two terms between 2011 and 2021 before losing the seat to Hilderman in the 2021 general elections.
Hilderman, who contested on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket, had previously supported Kyambadde during her political campaigns.
During his time in Parliament, Hilderman became known for speaking out on issues affecting artists, particularly copyright and neighbouring rights.
The political fortunes later changed, with Kyambadde making a comeback in the recently concluded elections and narrowly defeating Hilderman.
Hilderman has since challenged the election results in court, alleging irregularities during the election.
The latest confrontation has added another chapter to the complicated political relationship between the two former allies.
