First Daughter Natasha Museveni Karugire has issued a public warning distancing herself from fake Facebook accounts and fraudulent online schemes operating under her name.
In a statement shared on her X (formerly Twitter) account, Natasha clarified that she does not have a Facebook account and cautioned the public against trusting anyone claiming to represent her on the platform.
She also dismissed reports of a “Natasha Museveni Foundation” and a “Natasha Museveni Loans Foundation,” describing both as fake entities created by fraudsters to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.
“I am not on Facebook. The fake Facebook accounts have been flagged and reported. There is no Natasha Museveni Foundation and definitely no Natasha Museveni Loans Foundation. Members of the public should know that I do not transact online. This is fraud—engage at your own risk,” Natasha said.
She urged Ugandans to remain vigilant and avoid sending money, sharing personal information, or engaging with individuals or pages impersonating her online.
The warning comes at a time when online impersonation scams are on the rise, with fraudsters increasingly exploiting the identities of prominent public figures to promote fake investment opportunities, donation drives, and loan schemes.
