Trouble has deepened for businessman Asimwe Christian, alias Don Chris, after the State filed 350 fresh charges against him over an alleged scheme involving fake Canadian job offers.
The charges accuse Don Chris of obtaining money by false pretences through Sky Pins Tours and Travel, allegedly targeting Ugandans seeking employment opportunities abroad.
Don Chris appeared before the Kampala City Hall Magistrate’s Court earlier today, where he pleaded not guilty to all 350 charges.
More than 30 alleged victims were reportedly present during the proceedings, according to video footage from the court session.
The State has opened seven new case files, each containing 50 counts, in a case highlighting concerns over alleged overseas employment scams targeting Ugandans.
The allegations remain before court and have not been proven.
