Fresh details have emerged about the final days of Ugandan TikToker Timothy Kayanja, popularly known as Jayden, following his death in India at the age of 24.
Speaking during his morning talk show, veteran media personality Kasuku, real name Isaac Katende, claimed Jayden was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) about 15 times before his death and spent nearly four days in a coma.
Kasuku said he had been receiving regular updates through a friend who was undergoing treatment at the same hospital in India where Jayden was admitted.
According to Kasuku, Jayden’s condition became increasingly complicated following a bone marrow transplant, despite initially showing signs of recovery.
Kasuku also revealed that Jayden’s medical bills in India were reportedly covered by President Yoweri Museveni, after musician Bebe Cool helped connect the family to the President.
Jayden had been battling aplastic anemia, a serious condition that affects the body’s production of blood cells. After Ugandans rallied behind him through a public fundraising campaign, he travelled to India for specialized treatment.
He underwent a bone marrow transplant in July 2026 and initially appeared to be making progress, raising hopes among his family, friends and supporters.
However, his health reportedly deteriorated in August, leading to his admission to ICU as doctors continued efforts to save his life.
News of Jayden’s death was announced on the morning of September 15, 2026, by fellow TikToker and close friend Sheilah Price through her social media platforms before being confirmed by people close to him.
Jayden rose to widespread popularity in late 2024 following a humorous TikTok video about city children travelling to the village for Christmas. The character became so popular that “Jayden” subsequently became a nickname associated with spoiled or pampered children.
His death has left Uganda’s social media and entertainment community mourning a young personality whose rise to fame began with a viral moment before his battle with illness united many Ugandans behind his treatment.
