Concern is growing over the health of veteran Ugandan politician and former Second Deputy Prime Minister Gen. (Rtd) Moses Ali, who has reportedly been admitted to Nakasero Hospital in Kampala for treatment.

According to a report by New Vision, the 87-year-old statesman is currently receiving medical care, although the exact nature of his illness has not been publicly disclosed.

His longtime associate, Capt. Mike Mukula, confirmed that Gen. Ali had been hospitalized, saying the veteran leader has been “under the weather.” Mukula also wished him a speedy and full recovery.

However, neither Gen. Ali’s family nor government officials have issued an official statement providing details about his condition.

The hospitalization comes only months after Gen. Ali stepped down from Cabinet, ending a distinguished career spanning more than five decades in Uganda’s political and military leadership.

Over the years, Gen. Ali served in various government positions, including under the Idi Amin administration, before later reconciling with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and becoming one of Uganda’s longest-serving Cabinet ministers.

Despite leaving Cabinet earlier this year, he successfully retained his seat as Member of Parliament for Adjumani West in the 2026 General Election and was recently appointed to serve on two parliamentary committees in the 12th Parliament.

As news of his hospitalization spreads, messages of support, prayers, and well wishes continue to pour in from political leaders, supporters, and members of the public, all hoping for his quick recovery.
