A prison warder attached to Kiboga Government Prison, Anguyo Moses, has been sentenced to death by hanging after being convicted of four counts of murder arising from the shocking Kiboga killings.
The High Court handed down the death sentence after considering several aggravating circumstances surrounding the offences, including the murder of two public servants while on duty and the killing of a one-and-a-half-year-old child.
The court also considered the use of an AK-47 rifle, allegations of targeting based on tribal identity, and the fact that Anguyo was an armed officer who breached the trust placed in him.
Although the court considered mitigating factors, including his guilty plea and expression of remorse, it ruled that the aggravating circumstances outweighed them.
Anguyo was also handed additional sentences for aggravated robbery and threatening violence.
Anguyo Moses, who shot and killed four Banyankore, has been ordered to pay 25,000 ugx for stealing an Arsenal jersey and has been sentenced to death. This means that at least six people have been sentenced to death since the beginning of the year. pic.twitter.com/PO4mxUzssz
