City socialite Shanita Namuyimbwa, popularly known as Bad Black, has shocked fans after announcing that she has quit skin bleaching after 13 years, saying she is ready to embrace her natural appearance and allow her children to see her for who she truly is.
In a post shared on Snapchat, Bad Black revealed that she had spent more than a decade lightening her skin but has now decided to stop and focus on self-acceptance.
“I have been bleaching my skin for the past 13 years, but it’s finally time for my children to embrace and see the real woman who gave them life—the woman who has sacrificed everything for them,” she wrote.
The socialite said she is done hiding behind her previous image and is ready to enter a new chapter of her life by accepting herself.
“Forget bleaching. I’m done. This is the real me, and I’m choosing to love every part of myself,” she added.

Bad Black also revealed plans to completely rebrand her social media presence, including the possibility of deleting her old Instagram pictures and TikTok videos.
She said she wants to introduce a new version of herself centred around her natural melanin and described the planned transformation as the beginning of a fresh chapter.
“I will delete all my Instagram pictures because reborn Bad Black is melanin dark chocolate sexy mama,” she said, adding that she intends to start afresh this August.
The announcement comes as Bad Black continues recovering from her recent 360 liposuction and Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.
She has previously spoken about the demands of her recovery, including avoiding sitting for an extended period as part of the healing process.
For Bad Black, the decision to stop bleaching appears to be more than a change in appearance, with the socialite presenting it as a personal journey towards self-love and accepting her natural identity.
