Jordan Tumwine, who was earlier nominated by the Electoral Commission to contest for Rwampara County parliamentary seat , has made a dramatic political comeback to the National Unity Platform (NUP) after briefly defecting to the ruling NRM.

Tumwine had withdrawn from the race and crossed to NRM, but now says his decision was based on promises of money, clothes, and food, promises he claims were never honored.

Speaking after his return, Tumwine admitted he was misled and expressed regret over his short-lived defection.

He has since apologized to the people of Rwampara and to NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, asking for forgiveness and a second chance.

The unexpected U-turn adds to the growing political drama as parties scramble for support ahead of the elections.
