Nalongo Maggie Kaweesi, the widow of late Ugandan musician AK47 (Emmanuel Mayanja), has reportedly passed away after battling complications related to malaria.
According to reports, Maggie was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Mengo Hospital after being transferred from Nsambya Hospital, where she had initially received medical attention. She later passed away while receiving treatment.
The cause of her death has been linked to malaria complications, according to AK47’s mother, Prossy Mayanja, who reportedly confirmed the sad news.
However, the family has not yet released a detailed official statement about her illness and final moments.
Nalongo Maggie was married to AK47, who died in 2015, and the couple had twins, Connie and Canaan. She later married singer Rabadaba (Faisal Sseguya), although their relationship later ended.
Her death has left Uganda’s entertainment industry mourning, with friends, fans, and fellow musicians sharing messages of condolence in memory of a woman who remained connected to one of the country’s most famous music families.
