Police has revealed fresh information on the probable cause of the terrible accident that left Two Sanyuka TV staff members, Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye, dead and presenter Brian “Macona” Ssemanda seriously injured after their vehicle was involved in a head-on crash along Entebbe Road.
The crash happened at around 2:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, near the Stabex area in Namulanda, Wakiso District. According to preliminary police findings, the driver of a Toyota Hilux, registration UAS 976W, was travelling from Entebbe towards Kampala when the vehicle allegedly lost control, drifted into the opposite lane and collided with a Toyota Allex, registration UA 779DE.
The Allex was carrying the three Next Media/Sanyuka TV staff who were returning from covering a celebrity boxing match between Chicken Chicken and Shawa.
Kasirye and Ndamagye died at the scene, while Macona sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the ICU at Kisubi Hospital. The Hilux driver was also injured.
Police Traffic and Road Safety spokesperson SP Michael Kananura said loss of control by the Hilux is the preliminary indication of what caused the crash.
However, investigations are still ongoing to establish the exact circumstances and root cause of the accident.
