Ugandan music’s new school is slowly taking shape, and one of the names pushing forward is Youtguy, born Kigumba Moses in November 2000.

The fast-rising artist officially stepped into the professional music scene in 2022, marking the beginning of what he hopes will be a long and impactful career in Uganda’s entertainment industry.

Youtguy says his musical inspiration comes heavily from the late legendary singer Moses Ssekibogo, popularly known as Moze Radio, whose influence continues to shape a generation of artists even after his passing.

From songwriting to vocal delivery, Youtguy credits Moze Radio as the blueprint behind his passion for creating music that connects deeply with listeners through meaningful lyrics and catchy melodies.

Since his debut, he has been steadily working on building his brand, growing his fan base and refining a sound he describes as both personal and expressive, with the aim of standing out in Uganda’s competitive music space.

With consistency and determination on his side, Youtguy says he is focused on carving out his own lane while honoring the legacy of the artists who inspired him to start the journey in the first place.
