Singer Mansoor Ssemanda aka King Saha, was reportedly abducted from his home in Kyanja, Kampala together with his sweetheart Winnie wa Mummy, on Tuesday evening in a security operation that has raised so many questions.
According to eyewitness accounts and videos circulating online, armed security personnel, including individuals described as uniformed and plain-clothed officers, were at the singer’s residence when he returned.
Reports indicate that Saha was confronted at gunpoint and taken away from the premises, with his initial destination reportedly unknown.
The operation reportedly turned chaotic after gunshots were heard around the residence, sending people nearby into panic.
At least one person was reportedly shot in the leg and rushed to hospital, although details about their condition were not immediately confirmed.
Later reports indicated that Saha had been taken to Jinja Police Station, although authorities had not publicly provided details about the reason for his arrest or confirmed the specific charges against him at the time of the reports.
The incident happened just hours after Saha had been mobilising his fans in Kampala ahead of his concert scheduled for Friday, August 14, at Kololo Airstrip/Independence Grounds.
The circumstances surrounding the singer’s arrest remain unclear, with opposition figures and some of his supporters describing the incident as an abduction and calling for an explanation from security authorities.
Saha has previously had run-ins with authorities over his performances and has occasionally been mentioned in connection with Uganda’s political tensions. However, no definitive reason had been publicly established for Tuesday’s operation at the time of reporting.
