Ugandan long-distance runner Harbert Kibet, 21, has been provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) over allegations involving prohibited substances.
According to the AIU, laboratory analysis reportedly detected triamcinolone acetonide and exogenous steroids in Kibet’s sample, with the findings confirmed through IRMS analysis.
Kibet represented Uganda at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo and most recently competed at the Xiamen Diamond League in May 2026.
The suspension comes months after his remarkable performance at the 10K Facsa Castellón race in Spain, where he clocked 26:39 in February 2026.
The AIU case remains ongoing, and the provisional suspension does not amount to a final finding that Kibet committed an anti-doping rule violation.
