A public anti-corruption campaign in Nyendo, Masaka City, took a dramatic turn after local coffee farmer Nanyange Cissy publicly confronted State Minister for Local Government Justine Nameere, accusing her of demanding UGX 152 million linked to coffee seedlings allegedly supplied during the 2026 political campaign.
The confrontation unfolded on Monday night, July 27, 2026, during the launch of the “Expose the Corrupt” campaign in Greater Masaka, led by Local Government Minister Balaam Barugahara.
Videos of the heated exchange quickly spread across social media as residents recorded the incident on their phones.
According to Cissy, she supplied coffee seedlings during campaign activities but has never been paid.
She publicly challenged Minister Nameere during the rally, claiming she had been treated unfairly and demanding accountability over the alleged outstanding payment.
Responding to the accusations, Minister Justine Nameere denied any wrongdoing and challenged Cissy to produce documentary evidence to support her claims.
The public exchange immediately drew mixed reactions online, with some social media users calling for the dispute to be resolved through evidence, while others questioned whether the disagreement reflected a genuine unpaid debt or political tensions.
The incident has reignited debate over campaign financing and accountability, particularly after earlier allegations in 2026 in which Nameere was accused of failing to pay suppliers who allegedly provided goods and services during campaign activities.
The minister has consistently denied those claims.
No official statement has yet been issued by either Minister Balaam Barugahara or Justine Nameere following the confrontation.
