The Acting Town Clerk of Luwa Town Council in Namisindwa District, Kurobe Samuel, has been remanded to prison over allegations of abuse of office in a disputed land transaction.
Samuel is accused of misusing part of a Shs150 million allocation intended for the purchase of land and construction of council offices in Kungu Cell.
Prosecution alleges that Shs40 million was recorded as having been spent on the land, yet the actual purchase price was allegedly Shs12 million. Investigators further allege that a forged sale agreement was created to support the transaction.
Samuel is also accused of bypassing procurement procedures and failing to ensure that the land was properly valued before the purchase.
He was remanded until August 13, 2026, as investigations continue.
The case is part of the #ExposeTheCorrupt campaign by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, which is targeting alleged corruption and abuse of public resources in local governments.
The allegations have not been proved in court.
