The Uganda Police Force has confirmed the arrest of a man linked to a viral video circulating online, which shows individuals bragging about engaging in and promoting criminal activities along Jinja Road and in Banda.
Police say the suspect has been identified as Wafula Solomon, 27, a resident of Banda Zone III in Nakawa Division.
According to authorities, Wafula was arrested on June 25, 2026 at around 12:00 noon by officers from Banda Police Post following investigations into the widely shared video.
Police allege that he appears in the footage, which reportedly depicts and glorifies criminal behaviour within the area.
He is currently being held in custody as investigations continue.
Security agencies also confirmed that efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest other individuals seen in the same video who are still on the run.
Investigators say digital tracking and intelligence-led operations are being used to trace everyone connected to the clip as scrutiny intensifies over online content linked to crime promotion.
Authorities have issued a strong warning to the public against creating, sharing, or circulating content that promotes or glorifies criminal activity.
Police emphasized that such actions may attract legal consequences, as the force continues to tighten monitoring of social media activity linked to unlawful behaviour.
