Rwenzururu Kingdom’s Omusinga, Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma, has safely arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, for a routine medical follow-up, CelebPatrol.ug has learnt.

According to Rwenzururu Kingdom Minister of Information, Mobilization and Kingdom Spokesperson Owekitsumbi Geoffrey Kanyonyi, the Omusinga travelled on August 27, 2026, and arrived in Istanbul the following day.

The trip follows medical advice from specialists who treated the King towards the end of last year, during a period when he missed several cultural functions due to health-related concerns.

Speaking to the press at the Rwenzururu Kingdom Administrative Offices in Kasese Municipality on Thursday morning, Kanyonyi clarified that the Omusinga is not currently ill, but travelled to Turkey for a routine review as advised by his doctors.

The Kingdom spokesperson expressed optimism that the medical review will be brief, allowing the Omusinga to return home and resume his cultural responsibilities.

Meanwhile, the Rwenzururu Kingdom has conveyed its royal condolences to the people of Tooro following the death of His Majesty Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV, the late Omukama of Tooro Kingdom.

Kanyonyi also called upon Rwenzururu subjects to begin preparations for the Kingdom’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, scheduled for October and November 2026.
