The Queen Mother, Best Kemigisa, has delivered an emotional tribute during the funeral of her son, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, revealing the depth of her pain following his death.

Speaking during the funeral, Kemigisa said she had pleaded with God to take her life before that of her son while the late King was still on his hospital bed.

The grieving mother revealed that she made the painful prayer as she struggled with the thought of losing her son.

“I begged God to take me first, but He did not listen,” Kemigisa said.

She further recalled pleading with God in desperation, saying, “If I’m a bad person, take me.”

Her emotional words reflected the devastating pain of a mother being forced to mourn and bury her own child, as mourners gathered to pay their final respects to the late Tooro monarch.

King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV passed away after his health battle, leaving the Tooro Kingdom mourning the loss of its cultural leader.
