The Uganda’s Muslim community is on high tension after renowned Islamic scholar and preacher Sheikh Shafik Mafo getting involved in a road accident, while travelling along the Masaka Road.
Sheikh Mafo, the Director of Maqam Travels, was travelling with several members of his team and fellow sheikhs when their vehicle was involved in the crash. The group was rushed to Byansi Hospital in Masaka, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
According to initial reports, Sheikh Mafo sustained head injuries and complained of severe chest pain following the accident.
However, he and the other occupants are reported to be in stable condition as doctors continue to monitor their recovery.
The cause of the accident has not yet been disclosed, and no fatalities have been reported.
News of the incident quickly spread across social media, prompting an outpouring of prayers and messages of support from followers, friends, and members of the Muslim community. Many have prayed for Allah to grant Sheikh Mafo and his team a full and speedy recovery.
Sheikh Mafo is widely respected for his Islamic teachings and regularly appears on NBS TV, Salam TV, and various online platforms, where he shares lessons from the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah. He is also well known for guiding pilgrims during Hajj and Umrah through Maqam Travels, as well as his extensive Da’wah work across Uganda.
As supporters continue to await further updates from the hospital, prayers remain focused on the recovery of Sheikh Mafo and the other occupants who were injured in the crash
