The Rwenzururu Kingdom is in deep mourning following the death of Princess Asnas Muhindo Kunihira Kibanzanga, who passed away after an illness.
Her death was confirmed in an audio statement by the Kingdom’s Minister of Information, Mobilisation and Spokesperson Hon. Geoffrey Kanyonyi, who shared the sad news but did not reveal the full medical circumstances surrounding her passing.
Available reports indicate that the Princess had been unwell prior to her death. However, the Kingdom has not publicly disclosed the specific illness, how long she had been sick, or any detailed medical condition linked to her passing.
Authorities have also not reported any foul play or accident in connection to her death.
Following the announcement, the Rwenzururu Kingdom, under the leadership of Charles Mumbere, directed that all Kingdom flags be flown at half-mast as a sign of respect and mourning.
Further official communication is expected as arrangements are made within the royal family.
