Zembo has successfully launched the inaugural Zembo Moto-E event, bringing together riders, partners, policymakers, motorsport enthusiasts, and members of the public for a celebration of Uganda’s rapidly growing electric mobility sector.

Held at Xtreme Adventure Park Busika in partnership with Rubis and other stakeholders, the event showcased the future of clean transportation through electric motorcycle races, test rides, technical demonstrations, workshops, and interactive sessions with riders.

The highlight of the day was an exciting electric motorcycle race, where riders battled it out on the tarmac, with the winner taking home UGX 300,000 and other prizes.

Since its establishment in 2018, Zembo has grown into Uganda’s leading electric motorcycle company, deploying more than 2,000 electric bikes across the country. The company has built an extensive ecosystem that includes affordable financing, after-sales support, battery swapping, and charging infrastructure to support riders.

Speaking during the event, Zembo CEO James Obrawoski said the gathering reflected the company’s remarkable journey alongside its riders and partners.

“This event is more than just a gathering; it is a testament to the incredible journey we have undertaken together with our riders and partners. With over 2,000 active bikes on Ugandan roads, Zembo is proving that electric mobility is not just viable—it is the smarter, cleaner, and more economical choice for our nation,” he said.

He added that Zembo remains committed to expanding access to electric mobility, creating jobs, and driving Uganda’s transition to greener transport.

The Moto-E event also gave riders an opportunity to share feedback directly with the company, helping shape future innovations while strengthening collaboration between industry players.

As fuel prices continue to rise and demand for affordable transport grows, electric motorcycles are increasingly becoming the preferred choice for boda boda riders, delivery businesses, and everyday commuters. Zembo says its bikes offer lower operating costs, reduced maintenance, and improved reliability compared to conventional fuel-powered motorcycles.

Looking ahead, the company plans to expand into more districts, introduce new electric bike models, and strengthen partnerships that will support Uganda’s growing e-mobility infrastructure.
