Position Overview
The Specialist II, Grants and Finance will play a crucial role in supporting ChildFund’s resource mobilization and management efforts. This role involves overseeing grant acquisition, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reporting to ensure the effective implementation of ChildFund’s grants portfolio.
Primary Responsibilities
- Safeguarding and Compliance: Stay alert to safeguarding risks and promote strong safeguarding practices in line with organizational policies and values.
- Grant Management: Ensure compliance with ChildFund’s grant management policies and standards, including budgeting, cost control, and administrative support.
- Budgeting and Reporting: Lead budgeting processes for grants, perform variance analysis, and prepare financial reports for internal and donor requirements.
- Proposal Development: Support proposal development by aligning budgets with donor requirements and ensuring accurate financial documentation.
- Grant Monitoring: Monitor the execution of grant activities, manage payments, and develop remedial action plans as needed.
- Technical Assistance: Provide guidance on organizational grant management standards and donor regulations.
- Capacity Building: Strengthen the capacity of the Country Office (CO) in project management and proposal development.
- Documentation and Systems: Maintain up-to-date records in Salesforce and assist in project close-out workshops.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5-7 years in grant management, budgeting, and financial oversight within a child-focused development organization.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Project Management, or a related field; Professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA) preferred.
- Skills: Strong analytical, budgeting, and financial review skills; experience with Salesforce and MS Office applications (particularly Excel).
- Competencies: Ability to manage multiple tasks, demonstrate diplomacy, and build collaborative relationships. Proficiency in English is required.

The Manager II, Resource Acquisition and Management will lead the Country Office’s grant acquisition and management strategies. This role involves coordinating proposal management processes, developing resource mobilization strategies, and building partnerships to enhance the CO’s grant portfolio.
Primary Responsibilities
- Resource Mobilization: Develop and implement strategies to increase the CO’s grant portfolio and meet acquisition targets.
- Proposal Management: Oversee the proposal development process, from planning to negotiation, and ensure alignment with donor requirements.
- Partnership Building: Network with donors, partners, and stakeholders to establish relationships and identify funding opportunities.
- Grant Management: Support post-award management, including compliance, reporting, and close-out processes.
- Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain systems for tracking opportunities and managing knowledge products related to grant acquisition.
- Capacity Building: Provide training and support to staff on proposal development and grants management.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 6-8 years in business development, grants management, or a related field, with experience in international development preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Skills: Proven ability in managing teams, strong presentation and public speaking skills, and familiarity with donor regulations and proposal development.
- Competencies: Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; fluency in English; experience with Salesforce is a plus.
