Singer Ronald Alimpa has regained his freedom after spending more than a month in jail following an altercation with police to an extent of trying to grab an officer’s gun, ahead of a planned concert in Kasanje.
The “Seen Don” hitmaker was released amid emotional scenes, with videos circulating on social media showing him walking out of prison before being warmly welcomed by friends, supporters, and fellow musicians.
Among those who received him were veteran Kadongo Kamu singer Mamuli Katumba and Record Ella Butida, who joined others in celebrating his release.
According to reports, Alimpa’s legal troubles began after his management allegedly organized a concert in Kasanje without obtaining the required security clearance from police.
When officers reportedly moved to stop the event, a confrontation broke out between the singer and security personnel.

Witnesses claim the artist insisted the show would proceed despite police directives, leading to a heated exchange.
The confrontation allegedly turned physical after police attempted to halt the event.
Authorities claim that during the scuffle, Alimpa assaulted officers and allegedly attempted to grab a firearm from one of the policemen.
Those allegations formed part of the case that led to his detention.
Following his arrest, reports emerged alleging that the singer had been under the influence of illicit substances during the incident.
However, Alimpa’s management dismissed those claims, insisting the confrontation resulted from confusion and heightened emotions rather than drug use.
