Investigative journalist and National Unity Platform (NUP) activist Andrew Natumanya, popularly known as Ninye Tabz, has broken his silence after what he describes as a traumatic five-day ordeal involving alleged abduction, detention, and intimidation.
Ninye Tabz, who is widely known as opposition leader Bobi Wine’s photographer and a vocal social media activist, says he was picked up by security operatives around June 17 before being held in detention for several days.
The journalist was later released on police bond and is currently facing investigations over allegations of unauthorized disclosure of official information and unlawful disclosure of personal data.
However, it is his account of what allegedly happened during detention that has sparked widespread public debate.
Speaking after his release, Ninye Tabz claimed that he was stripped n@ked and photographed while in custody, an act he believes was intended to humiliate, intimidate, and silence him.
According to the activist, individuals holding him allegedly threatened to release the photographs online if he continued publishing what they described as classified information from government offices.

“They stripped me naked and photographed me,” he claimed, adding that the experience was one of the most degrading moments of his life.
Despite the alleged threats, Ninye Tabz insists he remains undeterred.
The journalist says the experience has only strengthened his resolve to continue his work, maintaining that he will not be intimidated into abandoning investigative reporting or activism.
His allegations have since generated intense reactions on social media, with supporters demanding accountability and an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding his detention.
Others have called on authorities to publicly respond to the claims, particularly the allegations of mistreatment while in custody.
Before the photos make it to the Internet;
During detention, I was stripped naked, photographed and warned that if I ever release classified information from a “certain office” again, the photos will be published!
So brace yourselves because I’m not about to stop!
