The bitter war of words between former NTV Uganda news anchor Faridah Nakazibwe and State Minister for Local Government Justine Nameere has released the dramatic audio recording from their old battle that has refueled their beef..
The fresh confrontation follows comments by Nameere about a 2019 defamation case she filed against Faridah, which she says she eventually dropped after choosing forgiveness over a court victory.
Speaking in a recent interview with Kasuku, Nameere claimed the defamation case was heading in her favour because Faridah allegedly had no defence and had admitted wrongdoing.
According to Nameere, media personality Kyamagero later intervened and mediated between the two women, leading to her decision to abandon the case.
She said she preferred forgiveness rather than pursuing what she believed would have been a legal victory.
Nameere also launched a personal attack at her former colleague, saying she had no reason to revisit their old dispute because, in her view, life had already dealt with Faridah.
Faridah, however, has strongly disputed Nameere’s account, insisting that the former minister did not attend court or mediation sessions as claimed.
To support her position, Faridah has now released a December 2021 audio recording, which she says provides a different picture of what happened.
According to Faridah, the recording allegedly captures Nameere asking her to disregard the court process.
Faridah claims she kept the recording private for years out of sympathy because Nameere was going through personal challenges at the time.
She has now decided to make the recording public following Nameere’s latest remarks about the case.
Faridah had advised the supplier not to be overly worried about the lawsuit, citing her own experience with Nameere’s 2019 defamation case.
Nameere’s latest comments have now reignited the long-running feud, with Faridah responding with what she considers evidence to challenge the minister’s version of events.
The two women have had a strained relationship for years, dating back to their time at NTV Uganda, and their public exchanges have repeatedly attracted attention.
