A Kiboga Government Prison warder, Anguyo Moses, has pleaded guilty to four counts of murder, two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of threatening violence, leading to his conviction on all seven charges by the High Court in Kiboga.
Moses admitted to the offences arising from a deadly shooting incident in February 2026, when he allegedly went on a shooting rampage following a confrontation with his superiors over a phone violation.
Prosecution alleges that Moses used an SMG rifle to shoot dead ASP Catherine Hope, PO1 Akishuri Bright, civilian Sarah Ayebare and her infant son, Salson Niwagaba.
He is also accused of robbing civilians at gunpoint before fleeing Uganda and crossing into the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Following his guilty plea, the High Court convicted Moses on all seven charges.
The prosecution is expected to seek the death penalty during sentencing. Relatives of the victims and members of the community are scheduled to give their views on September 1, 2026, before the court determines his sentence.
The case has attracted significant attention because it involves a prison officer accused of using a government-issued firearm in a deadly attack that claimed four lives.
